 100 Men In Aprons

"Doing our part for domestic violence prevention for teenage girls"

& "Providing Opportunity Powered by Education"

Thank you for becoming a part of the third "100 Men In Aprons." Your participation in this event raises money for Gifted Hands Gift Shop Program and DeLaSalle Education Center, both Kansas City non-profit agencies. Gifted Hands is a domestic violence prevention program for teenage girls, the only one of its kind in the country, and DeLaSalle utilizes a holistic approach to education, providing students with individualized education and a wide array of social and wellness services. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. at the Penn Valley Community College Gymnasium, 3201 Southwest Trafficway, Kansas City, MO.

How does this fundraiser work?

Cooks will prepare their specialty dish/dessert for 75 people to sample, and guests will pay an entrance fee in order to sample as much of the food as they want.

What the cooks need to bring to the event:

*Enough of your specialty dish or dessert for 75 people to sample

*One/two serving utensils to dish up your samples to guests

*Cooler/ice to sustain cold dishes

What Gifted Hands and DeLaSalle will provide each cook on the day of the event:

*A special apron

*Two complimentary entry bracelets so that the cook and one other person can sample the food for free

*Chafing dishes to sustain warm dishes

*Paper products/plastic utensils on which to serve your samples to guests

*Volunteers to keep the cooks’ tables stocked with the necessities

As one of our cooks, we challenge you to bring in as many guests as possible to participate in the event. The cook with the largest number of guests who pay the entrance fee will win a PRIZE!!!
